For Living Magazine’s Leading Women 2026 feature, I had the pleasure of photographing Cheryl Masters of Backyard Oasis in The Woodlands, Texas. The portrait session was designed to capture not simply a professional headshot, but the confidence, warmth and individuality of a woman who has played an important role in shaping one of North Houston’s respected luxury outdoor living companies.
Cheryl Masters is President of Backyard Oasis, a family-owned and operated company established in 1999. With decades of experience behind her, Cheryl has helped guide the company’s evolution into a premier custom luxury pool builder serving The Woodlands, Tomball, Spring, Magnolia, Cypress, Montgomery and surrounding North Houston communities. Backyard Oasis specializes in custom swimming pools, luxury spas and hot tubs, outdoor kitchens, fire features, water features and complete outdoor living environments designed around each client’s vision.
For this studio portrait, we chose a graceful pink backdrop that complemented Cheryl’s floral top while creating an elegant contrast with her blond hair and luminous green eyes. Carefully shaped professional lighting brought dimension and sophistication to the portrait, while the clean studio setting kept the focus entirely on Cheryl.
